Endre, László   (1895-1946)

Public servant, antisemitic politician. Sub-prefect of Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun County between 1938 and 1944. As the state secretary at the Ministry of the Interior in the Sztójay government, he was one of the main organisers of the deportation of the countryside Jews. A key character in the collaboration between German and the Hungarian authorities, Eichmann considered him to be one of his best friends. During the Arrow Cross rule, he was the civic government commissioner of the military zone. After the war he was tried and executed.
